Biofuels

The theme “biofuels” is a priority in Ecoa’s agenda because of the necessity to understand recent facts related to the expansion of its production, that have caused economic, social, environmental and political consequences. The objective is to construct a deeper knowledge than opinions, positions and consensus established and spread throughout society, mainly  those showed or more evidenced from the construction of actual politics related to the sector – like the politics showed by the Plan of Agroenergy from the Brazilian Minstery of Agriculture, Cattle Farming and Supplying, in its second revised edition.

To define strategies from the agenda biofuels, we preview studies, analysis, discussions and articulations with civil society to construct appropriate methods of production. We have initiated our route searching for information about the competition for lands between the culture of sugar cane and the production of grains (food), basing that information on environmental unities. The conclusions and advances about that study will have constant actualization in this website, where there will have too a bank of data about companies from biofuel’s sector and the main information and news about this theme.
